Facilities in St. Mary’s church, Bishops Cannings Facilities in St Mary’s church, Bishop’s Cannings - updateWe have now obtained planning permission from Kennet District Council and obtained a faculty from Salisbury Diocese. The next step will be for our architect to seek tenders for building the external WC on the churchyard boundary outside the north door of the church, with a kitchenette in the choir vestry. On the fundraising front we have had some disappointing news that our application for a grant from Awards for All, which is linked to the lottery fund, has been turned down. However, we are hopeful of better luck in our bids to the Community First Landfill Tax scheme and the Garfield Weston Foundation, and now that we have the necessary planning permission and faculty we will be able to apply to another possible source - the National Churches Trust.
